Pain-Free, Hair–Free pulsed light hair removal, now even the most sensitive areas can be treated without the discomfort of other systems. Using a sweeping, paintbrush technique the treatment is shorter, more comfortable and gives great results.
How does it work?The pulsed light head works by heating the hair follicles with gentle pulses of energy, while at the same time a chill mechanism ensures the surface of the skin stays cool and comfortable. The energy is absorbed by the melanin (the pigment) in the hair and travels down the hair shaft to the hair root disrupting its growth. How many treatments are needed?Pulsed light energy treatment is most effective impairing the growth of hair follicles when they are at the growth phase. Before your first treatment you will be asked to shave or trim the area you wish treated. Treatments should then be 6 weeks apart to ensure the optimum outcome. At least 4 to 6 treatments are required for effective hair reduction. What does the treatment feel like?Many patients say the in-motion Pain-Free, Hair-Free treatments feel similar to a “ hot stone massage.” As the surface of the skin is cooled during treatment the treatment is comfortable and able to be used in even the most delicate areas. Are there any side effects?You can return to your normal activities immediately. There may be a slight redness but not always. What skin types are suitable for Pain-Free, Hair-Free hair removal?The Pain-Free Hair-Free system is suitable for all skin types and most hair types.
How permanent are the results?
Results vary depending on skin and hair type. It is not suitable for fair, white or gray hair because of the absence of melanin. Dark hair on fair skin gives the best results. Tanned or darker skin types can be treated with caution. Many patients experience permanent hair reduction with any remaining hair returns softer and lighter. |
